Father's advice

What A Father Told His Daughter A Day Before
Her Wedding
My Daughter, tomorrow you will stop bearing my
name. You will be happily married to the man
you love. Dont miss me because I have fulfilled
my purpose, it is now time for you to start
fulfilling yours.
From your childhood, I have raised you well by
the grace of God but before you say I do, there
are few things I need to tell you about living with
a man and being married.
Do you remember when you wrote your WAEC
and JAMB exams? You came to me and I gave
you 20,000 naira for the registration? Well, even
though I gave it to you, the money was not mine.
I know you always thought I paid the fees. The
truth is, I was broke... but your mother gave me
the money. She could have given it to you but
she decided to give it to me to give to you.
Support your husband. Some times things will
get tough... he will be frustrated. Even though he
acts tough, in his mind he has fears... he fear
you may not value him anymore because he has
fallen. That is the time to get behind him and
support him!
The best way to show your husband you love
him is to respect him! You may argue with him,
you may disagree but at the end of the day, let
him know he has your respect.
Do you remember the day I screamed at your
mother? What did she do? She was quiet! Do you
also remember the day she screamed at me?
What did I do? I was quiet! My daughter learn to
be quiet sometimes when your husband is angry.
When one person is hot, the other should be
cool. If two are always screaming at same time,
that is how big problems start in marriage.
The first thing to know about your husband is his
favorite food! If he has more than one then keep
them at the back of your mind. Dont let him ask
for it, always prepare it for him.

Aisha is now the Governor

Before now, Anambra State deputy governor,
Virginia Etiaba had served as governor following
the impeachment of Governor Peter Obi but her tenure was cut short as an appeal court nullified
the impeachment.

The Taraba State Governorship Election Petition
Tribunal in Abuja has nullified the election of
Governor Darius Ishaku of the Peoples
Democratic Party, and declared his All
Progressives Congress counterpart, Alhaja Aisha
Alhassan, as the winner of the April 11, 2015
election.

This therefore has made her the first contested and elected female governor of Taraba and Nigeria.
Congratulations to the minister designate and Governor, Aisha Jummai Alhassan.

All African U-17 Finals

Looking @ what happened in the semi-finals two African countries has emerged to the finals.
The stage is set for an all-Africa final at
the the ongoing FIFA U17 World Cup in
Chile as the Nigeria U-17 team, the
Golden Eaglets came from behind to beat
Mexico 4-2 in a thrilling semi final match
in the early hours of Friday.
Having enjoyed a better start at the
Estadio Municipal Ester RoaConcepcion,
the Mexicans drew the first blood eight
minutes into the game through Kevin
Magana.
After going down to an early goal, the
Coach Emmanuel Amuneke tutored side
gradually settled into the game and in the
35 th minute they were back levelled when
Captain Kelechi Nwakali masterfully
curled in a free kick from outside the box.
The equaliser sure gave the Eaglets the
needed boost as eight minutes later they
were in front, this time it was Orji
Okonkwo who rocketed in a shot to give
Nigeria a 2-1 lead going into the half time
break.
Nigeria started the second half quite
brightly and even hit the upright in their
quest to extend their lead.
However it was Mexico that scored first
in the second half again and it was a
classical goal from Diego Cortes who
wriggled through the Nigeria defence
before rounding up the keeper to score
one of the best goals at the Chile
tournament.
The Eaglets dusted up themselves yet
agan as they set out to restore their lead
and their efforts paid off in the 67th
minute when Ebere Osinachi made and
attempt from a difficult angle and the
Mexican goalkeeper helped the ball into
his own net.
Nigeria made sure they killed the game in
the 83 rd minute when a penalty kick was
awarded to the Eaglets and Victor
Oshimen calmly slotted in the ball to
register his ninth goal of the tournament
which now makes him the joint record
holder of goals at the cadet
championships.

With this, the stage is now set for an all
African final, as Mali earlier reached their
first ever FIFA U-17 World Cup final
courtesy of a resounding come-from-
behind 3-1 victory against Belgium.
The final comes up on Sunday at the
Estadio Sausalito Vina Del Mar

Gowon's Son Released From US Prison 22 Years After

Nigeria's former head of state General Yakubu Gowon is happy to have his son
Musa Jack Ngonadi, been released from a California prison
after 22 years.

Musa at the age of 23, was living in the United States with his
mum, late Edith Ike Okongwu, when he was
arrested in November 18, 1992.

Agents of the Drug Enforcement
Administration and the United States Customs
Service arrested him for conspiring to import
in excess of one kilogram of heroin. He was
sentenced to 40 years in prison for the
allegedly smuggling heroin from source
countries. Although Jack Musa protested
vehemently through his legal team that he was
innocent and was framed up, this did not stop
him from being sentenced.
Musa in prison, he graduated with a degree in
law. Standing with him is his half brother,
Richard
However, Musa decided being in prison is not
the end of life. He enrolled in one of the
universities around and successfully graduated
with a degree in Law as a prison inmate. He
was also a role model and a legal adviser to
all the inmates. He carried himself well and
was a source of inspiration to co- inmates
who have given up on life. He was rewarded
for all his good conducts severally by the
prison authorities.
Musa Gowon
His family however did not relent in efforts at
getting him out of the prison. Moves for his
release began to grow louder and President
Obama heard one of the moves and acted by
granting him a parole. Musa walked out of
Taft Correctional Facility Bakersfield California
as a free man on November 2 and he is
currently at ICE Detention Center Bakersfield
CA where he will be deported back to Nigeria
any moment from now.
Just recently, General Yakubu Gowon,
Nigeria’s former head of state said his
experience after governing the country showed
that Nigeria is not an easy country to lead.
