Bovi did not host the Headies 2014 Because...

Many followers of Nigeria’s most prestigious musical awards were left stunned when they got to know that comedian Bovi would not be hosting the Headies 2014.

Questions started coming from all angles and some even came up with different suggestions like something went wrong between the organizers and the popular comedian.

Well, the real reason he couldn’t host the show has finally been revealed. The show was initially slated to hold on October 25, 2014 and he was in for the date and preparations and rehearsals had already started when the organizers decided to change the venue and the date due to some logistic reasons and he was already billed to have a show on the new date picked. So he couldn’t just combine two shows in one night.

Considering the calibre of the awards, the organizers had to get someone of a like mind with him in the name of BasketMouth and everyone present at the awards knew it was a job well done by our host.

Nigeria will Kill Corruption thesame way Ebola was Killed

Following some corruption cases in Nigeria from the 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s, and in this contemporary time, some pessimistic Individuals and Groups have always believed and viewed such situation as impossible. Recently, a young and positive Nigerian, who sees the future instead of the present has declared that Nigeria will Kill Corruption the same way EBOLA was Killed few months back.

Ebola like we all know was always a distant issue to Nigerians. Discovered in 1976 at Nzara, Sudan, and Yambuku, Democratic Republic of Congo, now Zaire, it was named after Ebola River, in order not to stigmatise Yambuku which is 100 kilometres from the river. Outbreaks of the highly fatal Ebola have been around Zaire, Gabon, Uganda, Congo, South Africa, Sudan and Cote d’Ivoire.

Ebola is deadly. Without a cure or a vaccine, it shares the same symptoms with malaria which is common in West Africa, yet it is worse than malaria. Contact with the infected, or anything that the infected person has used, including bedding and clothing, results in more infection.  Transmissions are through blood, sweat, semen and breast milk. Health-care workers are frequently infected while treating patients with suspected or confirmed Ebola Virus Disease.

But Ebola was Killed in Nigeria when it flew in through the wings of the American- Liberian Man Patrick. According to this Positive Nigerian (OGBU CHINAGOROM FRANKLIN), Corruption will also be a history like Ebola in Nigeria if only We can fight it like we fought Ebola.

Small Girl caught with Bomb (Grenade)

An SSS 1 student of Federal Government Girls College (FGGC), Jalingo, was on Monday apprehended for being in possession of two grenades.

The student identified as Blessing, was caught by the school’s security men who were checking students’ bags & other luggage following their resumption for the second term.

In an attempt to smuggle the bombs into the school, Blessing, who joined the school last September, concealed the bombs inside garri and it took the vigilance of the security men to detect them.

Upon the discovery, she was quickly arrested alongside her father, who is said to be a retired Police Inspector from Numan in Adamawa State.
Meanwhile the bomb disposal unit at the police headquarters was quickly called in to detonate the bombs.

Confirming the incident, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), ASP Joseph Kwaji, said both the girl and her father are under detention while investigation is being conducted into the matter.

Sunusi Lamido Sunusi Set to Marry Lamido Adamawa's Daughter who is said to be 17 years

Sanusi who was former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) became the 14th Emir of Kano last June. He is allegedly marrying the Lamido's daughter to deepen royal bond between Adamawa and Kano.

Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II (Mallam Sanusi Lamido) is said to be set to take the beautiful 17-year-old daughter of the Lamido of Adamawa, Alhaji Muhammadu Barkindo Aliyu Musdafa, as his fourth wife.

Sanusi is an accomplished banker and his decision to take a new wife is in line with Islamic injunction which prescribes a maximum of four wives for those who can treat all of them equally. Already, Sanusi has three beautiful wives - Sadiya, Maryam and Rakiya.

Like in ancient times when bonds between empires were deepened by marriages among royals and nobles across boundaries, the betrothal of the Adamawa princess to Emir Sanusi II may also be a move to deepen royal bond between Adamawa and Kano. Historically, both emirates have similar origins in the 19 century Usman dan Fodio's jihad.

Responding to a question about marriage between adult men and underage girls, the Emir of Kano stated that he fully supports the right of children not to get forcibly married before attaining the constitutionally stipulated age of 18 years.
He further stated that he has not and will not contract a marriage with any woman under 18.

He said the stories making the rounds were only meant to know his intentions. While not totally ruling out the possibility of marrying a fourth wife, the Emir advised people to wait to see the real age of his wife if he decides to contract another marriage.

Nigeria, we hail thee,
Our own dear native land,
Though tribe and tongue may differ,
In brotherhood we stand,
Nigerians all are proud to serve
Our sovereign Motherland.
Our flag shall be a symbol
That truth and justice reign,
In peace or battle honour'd,
And this we count as gain,
To hand on to our children
A banner without stain.
O God of all creation,
Grant this our one request,
Help us to build a nation
Where no man is oppressed,
And so with peace and plenty
Nigeria may be blessed.
