Benedict Murray-Bruce was born on February 18, 1956 in Lagos to an Ijaw parent Mullighan and Margaret Murray-Bruce from Akassa, Bayelsa State of Nigeria. He attended the famous Our Lady of Apostles, in Yaba, Lagos and St Gregory College in Obalende. He studied Marketing and Business at the University of Southern Carolina.

Mr. Ben Murray-Bruce, motivational speaker role mode to Nigerian youths is a director of several companies in Nigeria as well as in France, the United Kingdom and the United States of America.

The share capital of Silverbird in 1980 was only N20, 000. He raised the money from family and friends. Don’t forget, N20, 000 in 1980 was like $40, 000 now. Airline ticket to Los Angeles was N600. To go to London was N200. It was N1.95k to a dollar in 1980. So, you could imagine what you could do with N20, 000. And N20, 000 was difficult to get then.
