World’s Youngest Filmmaker! |
Aha! My People, Nigeria is moving on the pace of history creation and record breaking. Our own Zuriel Oduwole has made us proud again, by becoming the youngest person in the world to show her work in a commercial movie theatre.
Remember my people, she became the youngest person of African descent to be listed for 2013’s 100 Most Influential Africans alongside 3 Presidents and as well the youngest person in the world to be profiled in Forbes Magazine at just 10.

Against the backdrop of so much negative press, scantily dressed women on stage, and intentional putting down of women, especially women of colour, the Los Angeles school girl and Nigerian native showed her newest documentary titled A Promising Africa at the Film House Cinema chain in Lagos last November 2014. The documentary moves to London this month, January 2015, and a limited and early release is scheduled for later in the year.
Don't also forget these things about her:
1. Zuriel Oduwole is the first Nigerian African Girl-Child educational campaigner.

3. Zuriel is reputed to be the first African child to be appointed honorary ambassador position by a foreign government. She was conferred with an ambassadorial status in Tanzania by the country’s first lady, Mrs. Salma Kikwete in 2013.
4. Zuriel’s name is of Hebrew origin, which means “God is my Rock”. She holds a belief that if she can walk a mile, she can inspire other girls to walk a mile and half.
